Now this Huge Red Oak , takes out the ten year old little girls room , and destroys the parents master bedroom . Happened at three thirty in the afternoon . Uprooted from in the woods . Everybody was home . I saved the new Ipad from the parents room and the bunny for the kid . Don't worry about the monsters in the closets or the monster under the bed , worry about the big bad scary monster Oak .

I've looked for the story to link but couldn't find it. In the mid '90s a large fir in Seattle area split a kids bedroom right to the floor with two boys sleeping on either side of it. They both slept through it!

How crap Riggs, that is scary. I agree with Tom. Watch out for the Tree Phobia that's gonna happen in that area of town now.

I haven't seen as many trees down in the area as I thought I would have since the 2 windy days in the last week around here. I'm local you Riggs. It was blowing like mad. Just waiting for the Asplundh'ed 110' spruce in my neighbors back yard to go over, hopefully not towards my property.

last weekend a tree fell on my 18 year old daughters car and blew out her rear windshield and whacked her trunk , while she was driving . Two hours after that a 100 ft Tulip fell from my woods and clipped my house . Can't take them far enough back ! Anyway , I don't blame the trees for coming after me , just leave the kids and house out of it . I have plenty of pictures of that crushed home in Wayne , I'll put them together, throw it on photobucket . Pulled it off with a 30t crane and 65ft bucket . It was difficult strapping the logs on the house because of the debris. I'm sure you can imagine, glass ,electric(power off)furniture . Simple job , just peeling crane logs out of bedrooms, just sad me being a homeowner and parent . That was crazy wind . Leaves on those trees would have been nutz. I was a fire fighter for 15 years , smoke detectors give you a warning , a chance , if this happened at night , I don't even want to think about it , no warnings a 40 ton tree is whistling towards your house . Be a good State Farm commercial .

I did one this year that destroyed a house like that too. Red oak uprooted and just ripped into the rafters. I was on the roof cutting the logs off while watching the sawdust fall onto the kitchen counter. I'll try to get the photos up on that. I only have a couple.

Oh damn. That one made a real mess.

I can't say I like trees to fall on houses but getting them off are usually my favorite jobs.

Me too. I think that I remember Nosak saying something like that as well.

An elderly couple lived in the house. They were normally in bed by 8:30 when this happened
