Not mine - The Nobel Institute (and much of the rest of the world). Based in Norway? You know, somewhere not the US?

There is a perceived idea out there that having hope for change isn't valid currency in today's world so any vote in that direction is ignorant, or dare I say, unpatriotic?

I for one felt pretty hope-less under that past 8 years. Obama can't be all things to all people - so there a few wars out there that have to be dealt with because back in 2003 we only ran with the motto "might makes right". There is no way to just pack up and leave a war - that is simplistic - even if it was a mistake to begin with.

No, hope isn't neatly fit into soundbites between commericals and tv shows - its hard work and takes time.

As many people have pointed out - Obama has been given world currency with this prize. Lets see what he can do - better yet, lets help him - by realizing we are a big and powerful country and instead of grabbing on to decadence and decay begin planting seeds of world wide reconciliation and increased attention to human suffering here and abroad. This, I think, is part what the Nobel Institute had in mind...

when you travel abroad you make it a point to sit and chat with locals about their perception of the USA, and their countires political views of us? im impressed!



All liberals are the same, they see the way France and Germany operate and think its great having limited freedoms and huge welfare systems. Ask them how they feel about all their welfare, and how they like having their money taxed to the hills.

remind me again why so many people are immigrating to our country from other countries? why do they want to be part of the big bad americans who have no socialized programs? who torture, rape, pillage, kill, and steal. the Americans that only think of our own country. the America that won't help out when grief strikes, be it human made or natural.
