notch jet step

What stands out for me is how easy it looks to release, when intentionally releasing it. Not that I'd want to kick out of it, or not have it retain the climbing line when in use, but when it comes the time to release it, I like the way it appears to take little effort to intentionally remove it from a climbing line, while being worn. I wonder how well it would work in a knee ascender configuration? Appears ro be able to run smoothly and be rope friendly. Looking forward to some forthcoming reviews when the time comes.

Concept looks great. Very interested of a report by somebody who used it. Currently using a CT and a SAKA mini. The CT seems a little harsh on my blue moons ropes.

I think that smaller diameter ropes have more of an opportunity to move around inside the ascender. The larger area, to accommodate larger ropes maybe lets the rope slide sideways in the device if it isn't fair led into it.

I had a play with one in my hands.

It's super smooth. It seems like won't kick out, but releases easily.

It is however, quite big. Will be interesting to see how people like it.

@deevo,

Any chance of an update on the Notch Jet Ascender ?
Sorry for the late reply, I’ve climbed with it 7 times now, very smooth, I’m a CT user this foot ascender is a step above that, very smooth, easy getting on and off rope. They did a good job on this one! As long as petzl doesn’t try and copy it and call it the footcane or something ! @treebing

I'm interested in hearing what early adopters think of the open hook at the top of the device. Since this device can be used on either foot this hook would face forward or backward unless it can be rotated somehow. Does the direction effect performance for the user?
Low profile lace Hooks bend and break off. Serious design flaw!:estudioso:

Thanks for the reply deevo,

Looks like it's gonna cost me another 100 bucks. Hope it's worth it for the rope.
