Notch and Drop

There was a little wind.Not much. I did cut the back slow to ensure it was pulled and wedged rather than just fallen. I could have cut quicker to leave a thinner hinge but the tear wasnt my concern. Although I was well aware of the increase potential of a barberchair.
 
That's pretty much the same way I tackle them too.
I stop and check the distance on both sides between the back cut and hinge usually a few times on larger trees while the back cut progresses.
It's important for the guy on the rope to know when to hold them or pull them.
Too much pull too early can cause excessive fiber pull.
