Oak tree with something growing on it. Any idea what this thing is?

Looks like the beginning of an oak apple. There are lots of wasps that cause funny growth like that in oaks. Usually not an issue.

ID your oak, Google some, and compare.

You will do well to be able to ID each part for yourself and customer.
