NO women climbers...

If one waits to be "ready" before competing, myself nor my wife would never have done it. You just go and do your best. No more, no less. Competitions are a blast! Will you be nervous? Yes. Will you mess up? Yes. Will you be encouraged by your other competitors? Yes. At the end of the day will you be glad you did it? Yes.

WOOO HOOOO!!!! Courage, faith and craziness... dive right in :)
Katy, Frax, you both are super qualified for these comps! I think you'll surprise yourselves. I will benefit from your experience by the time Oct rolls around for the Ky TCC.

We are looking for women to sign up for the Portland Regional TCC. Katy, Michelle, and Susan did a great job in the Puget Sound Regional, all got great TIPs in the Masters Challenge and showed a lot of potential. We need more women in our industry, and we need the current women arborists to participate in these events, especially in the PNW. We haven't had a women in the Portland Regional TCC since one of my employees, Megan Moore, participated 5 years ago. Unfortunately, Megan is now out of the industry on a different path. She is the only woman that has competed in the 8 year history of this event. If there was a good place to get your feet wet in a low pressure, fun atmosphere, it would be in the regional TCCs that the PNW ISA holds in BC, Portland, and the Puget Sound area each spring and summer.

CONGRATS to all 3 of you! That is fantastic news, first off, that y'all were in the comp, and that you did yourselves proud.
Katy, your pix from the comp are awesome, have you posted any on here yet? (sorry, been a little out of it the last week)

Any training tips any of you could share with those of us who want to give TCCs a try?

Congrats again!

I've heard about the Geezers. My friend goes every year and tries to drag me along. I get a hangover just listening to the stories.
