My wife don't know or care about tree work. We watched the show together just to see what it would be,
So she, who could care less, asked me how the car was in the drop zone being under the wires. She said it was parked in the most protected area, under the wires.
She could care less,,lol.
Just thought it interesting that she would make that point.

What a Joke , why don't they get some real tree guys that don't act like fools ..

Later in SO-CAL Maybe they should tape JesseHuffman , Now that would be good ..

I took this two quality guys to there 5 or 6 so so guys. Watched a competitor bring 8 guys to a crane assisted tree removal of a silver maple and me and dave took down similar sized trees, even bigger with just the two of us and a 40t crane. I get a good chuckle out of it anyways.

You, another secretary (cuter one), and an Arbor Trolley?

Staged or not, this show just flat out pissed me off.The only company that came out of this with a reputation intact was TreeTech. All Seasons is a complete clown show and the other companies evidently have no knowledge of safety standards. They must have set a record on how many drop start, one handing , minimum approach distance, chaps, two points of attachment, eye protection, hearing protection violations ,etc. can be shown in an episode. I was expecting a guest appearance from Nosak . The log on the car was obviously staged and I am sure that they thought it was good drama but to pendulum swing a big log towards and under those wires was idiotic. Miss that moneyshot and you just pulled down the friggin primaries down on that neighborhood, luckily they only slapped the lines around after hitting the comm and cable wires with the rope.

Unfortunately guys, I think all of us are missing the real point. We ALL know guys just like this in every one of our markets. In fact, I would say, as a whole (let me repeat that- as a whole), the show does represent the "average" tree guy. Yes, I too, find the show repulsive, aggravating, and full of staged "jackass" events. But how many companies in your town (or mine) truly impress you? Admittedly, we on treebuzz see things a bit differently and really take our craft seriously, but the "average" tree guy ended up here due to a lay off at the factory or a pink slip. It isn't his calling, his passion, or his first choice. It's just a paycheck. Yes, we here are different (Thank Goodness!) but out there in the masses, what you see is what you get. And unfortunately in this day of rampant narcissism and a desire for "fame", more folks than not are eagerly willing to make complete jackasses out of themselves to "get on TV". Now, that being said, possibly take a different perspective. If potential costumers see this idiot show and develop their expectations of "tree work" based on it, just think how "over the top" impressed they'll be when you show up with your two guys, professionalism, and craft and just safely get it done!

I am not a tree or Aerial professional. I climb because I love doing it and thoroughly enjoy the technical challenge. However, I am exceptional at what I do in IT because I have a passion for it, and recognize the same level of enthusiasm from everyone on TB.

after watching the show, it seems most people will see through the comedy of Hollywood in these episodes. No 'real' Arborist should be concerned people will think this show is reality any more than one might believe Hawaii 5-0, Survivor, or Blue Bloods is real.

Despite the hucksterism which goes into these shows, there is some benefit to your industry. It raises visibility, awareness of the amount of effort, and the professional nature of tree work to the average person, and will hopefully gain an appreciation that tree work is dangerous and can be complex. Plus, you have to admit, there is something just cool about doing this work.

You should all be proud of what you do, pat yourselves on the back, and also feel good that you are part of the elite ones in this industry.

If arborists world wide.wide.wide contact NGeo and offer to boycott their advertisers they may consider some action.
"YA GETTIN' CAMERAED RITE NOW". What a bunch of Jamoces. I feel bad for them.

That's a good point. You are right, most of the companies around me are like this.
