Treemagineers owned the TM rights I believe. Guess they do not care about the TM. Because the Kinisi will outsell the TM til they have to drop it. My take on it. No one wants chinese made hardware with inferior metallurgy.
Aha. I never knew what happened after the weird lower D wear happened, if Teufleberger had returned to DMM for the TM hardware or not. What you’re saying makes tremendous sense. Mystery solved (for me anyway). Thx!

My experience with a TM Evo and also an adjustable bridge is:

- The two knot blocks on a dual bridge (two ropes scaffolded together) is very bulky and can definitely catch things. I think the Kinisi has the left side of both bridges as a sewn splice to the leg D, with the bar tack ends facing out, creating cleanliness beyond the left side leg D and allowing the bridge ring to flow all the way to that side.

- The tail of the bridge on the adjuster side can easily be managed, and is actually best when the bridge is longer than needed. This helps the tail remain hanging out of the way rather than sotting against the adjuster cams. I agree that an accidental adjustment may happen, but I also never experienced it happening to me.
I have never found the knots to be bulky. On my second Evo. It is a year old, not sure when I will get a kinisi. My injury is costing quite a bit. I was ready to get one but not a priority now. With treestuff's discount to me it will be $670. Not too bad. I do not want adjustable bridges but will try them, if not it is switch out to knot blocking both sides. I believe they have the parts to allow for this. I prefer the bungee on the leg pads than the wide elastic. And I have loads to switch that....but I will get one. A meduum. Sam also has a new Evo.

I expect all the wear parts and accessories required will be available soon, one thing at a time right?

Who owns what and when doesn’t matter that much, it’ll all come out in the wash eventually. Just interesting to consider why/how DMM took the lead on this harness. Likely there are good reasons and tree climbers will certainly benefit.

Meanwhile my TMs are doing great, well maintained and doing their job very well. Popcorn is on the stove, melting a little butter now ;-)

Sorry AJ I wasn't clear in my post above - I meant the original TM parts - they advertised long life and that's only true as long as there are bits and pieces available somewhere, even if Teuf drops their saddle. I did watch all the YouTube Kinisi videos and I must admit it looks slick. But still for me, the price . . . . .
They did say their adjustable bridge cam thingy is patented too. August has an older video which mentions the MB 1.0 and an adjustable bridge. For me the double cam thingy is an innovation, esp. if they have CE or whatever sert for it. Cheers all.

This is how I have run my TreeMo for years. A little of the supplied bungee and your off and running. Highly effective suspenders
setup.

That setup is clean AF.....nice

Andrew, not sure if I am correct. But my knowledge of years of following the progress of my fav harness is this conclusion. There is a reason the treemagineers dropped Tuefelberger and it is probably because they care more about aborists than profits. This harness is expensive because it is made of high quality hardware and textiles with huge quality control measures allowing for a premium build. You get what you pay for.

I absolutely love Beddes, and have never met him. One of my fav arb climbers of all time. I could watch that guy climb a tree all day just to have some of his style rub off on me. His hair and rugged good looks is just another plus.

I have a soft spot for DMM (alpine) gear - their craftsmanship is top notch and their whole ethos is to be admired in my view. Not just a capitalist spreadsheet MBA jockey money money money company at all. If these guys need a hand, guess it's a good reason to pony up the arb harness money then and help support smaller companies (like MB/ August and NewTribe too). It's the way Acrteryx started in N Vancouver. That's really important. Beddes (never met him) reminds me of a guy I used to ice climb with up here - Frank Campbell - think he's gotta be mid 80's now but still at it . . . . . just look at all the FA's in the guidebooks. Amazing people. Love this thread.

idk if the treemotion will be snowed under that easily, its still half the price compared to the kinisi. i expect their market share and positive regard will probably continue unless they pull a boeing and their hardware suddenly starts failing. that doesnt seem particularly likely to me but anything is possible i suppose

I played frisbee with Beddes and some other champs, men and women at the Toronto ITCC a few years back. I was like Garth in Wayne’s World movie meeting Alice Cooper “I am not worthy!”, lost my ability to throw ;-) Hilarious in retrospect.

So just an update on the MB. I'm selling it to an employee. I could not get it dialed in to fit me comfortably. Many things I liked about it but for the price I didn't love it.

Will probably try the kinisi or the ta pro. Grrr.

Like y'all said, someone will buy it if I didn't like it. Lol
