New saddle from Sherrill?

Other than, the potential for getting snagged (with the huge loops), I think it looks promising.

I'll let others buy it to review it though. After buying a Petzl Sequoia (a.k.a the nut cracker) I'm scared of anything other than the T.M.

But, I'm always interested in shopping for products for my employees.

WTF were they thinking with the chafe gaurd on the bridge? sorry but that just looks like it would be darn right annoying. gear loops look too big and not verry strong. the D rings look like the kind that might fold back and no ring on the bridge? dont get me wrong it looks comfy but theres a few details they can work on.

My thoughts exactly! But if its as comfy as the irratation, I mean Ergovation, it may prove to be a pretty good saddle.

This new work positioning sit harness designed exclusively for Sherrill Tree and manufactured by world renownd fall protection manufacturer Buckingham Mfg. is called the EDGE!
The EDGE is a direct result of the ergonomic research and development that went into the Ergovation, and listening to climbers like YOU! of what they like and dislike in a sit harness.

The goal was simple:
1) listen to the market on what they like and are looking for in a work positioning sit harness.
2) Take what we have learned from the anatomical design, research, and science that went into the Ergovation, on keeping users healthy and comfortable for the long term
3) Make it durable, light weight, simple, yet sophisticated
4) Offer it at a resonable price so that any arborist from entry level to 30 veteran climber can afford.
5) Make it COOL and hopefully folks will give it a try.

We have listened to what customers are looking for in a durable light weight, comfortable sit harness, that has plenty of room for gear and accessory's.

The EDGE is latest innovation, in ergonomic climbing harness technology.
Take one for a test flight you won't be disappointed!!

Thanks for description.
Just want to know if the Edge 'replaces' the Ergorvation or is more of a little brother?
I like my Ergo and would like to see it evolve in it's own direction...

I'm guessing the edge is a lightweight, faster moving little brother, more in tune with a treemotion.

The regular boat-anchorish Ergo will still be around for climbers who love bending limbs ;)

with the shackles its kinda a ergo/treemotion/butterfly saddle.

They should have went with a rigging plate type design instead of the shackles.

If they did that guys would just cut off the tail of their climbing line for a new bridge and they couldn't sell new high priced bridges.

I think Tobe is lurking and listening to the modifing we do to saddles and have done one.Looks nice, price is good, and well hang some stuff off the loops they probly bend down.

With respect, your talking like the Treemotion and TreeFlex never existed. Despite coming to the market after both the Treemotion and the Treeflex the Ergovation was not as progressive a harness as either the Treemotion nor the Treeflex in respect of ergonomic design.

Both of these harnesses (TF+TM) incorporated a 'pelvic' type back support (that are designed to be positioned below your lower spine and allow for freedom of movement for the lower back) rather than the typical back support design of all the other harnesses on the market (which restrict lower back movement).

When the creator of the Treeflex used to post here at Treebuzz it became widely accepted amongst members that his theories on the importance of a Pelvic type back support were not only correct in principle but progressive and ergonomic in relation to how we approach our work positioning in the tree. Have saddle/harness designers/manufacturers learnt nothing from this?

I have no connection with either Treemotion or Treeflex.

I use a Skylotec Kolibri daily as I like the solid legloops.

BUT - The only thing that would improve my Kolibri is a Pelvic type back support a la Treemotion or Treeflex. I hope this happens one day, then I'll have the perfect harness. In the meantime I try my best to position the old style back support of the Kolibri below my lower spine then tighten the waistbelt so as to try and keep it fixed in that position.

My point is this -

The Pelvic type back support has to be the way forward for all harness/saddle manufacturers.

It seems the design of the Edge has regressed in this respect - back to the old style back support that restricts lower back movement.

Any thoughts on this?

That saddle is sick i was talken to the the guy from arbor one who makes the ergovation he designed that new saddle for sherrill tree looks like its ganna be nice and light and the price is very good. He had the saddle with him and he said it was really nice to climb in .from the looks of it its a couple lbs lighter then the ergo and a couple less adjustments.
