New RopeRunner?!?

Seems like some nice new features honestly. I already have two RR Pros (got one for 'free') which I think are quire good, so I'm certainly not going to run out and buy the new one though.

I’ll wait a bit… I remember when the Pro came out, and there was issues/recalls with the spring in the bird. Does seem nice though.

yes, I see that I could have easily found out without asking here, but it was a middle of the night bathroom break, and I was just too excited to think. it looks so slick, I am really having to reason with myself to wait til it is practical for me

Great looking tool! The significant changes and refinements shown in this new rendition can have tremendous impact on the scope and ease of use of an already good tool.

Only one way to find out, ordered one yesterday.
Always value your opinion on gear Dave, so do keep us posted once you have had some time with your new toy.

Second this Dave. I prefer the OG over the pro. Not sure this can win me. I am a wrench guy so doubtful. I used the OGs I had for 6 years the went back to a wrench and honestly it's pros outweigh the RRs.

Can I ask please if anyone has experience of the hex screw for the upper adjustment bollard on their RRP stripping out? Mine just suddenly did today using the bent hex wrench (did have a glove on) while hand tightening. Both sides seem tight but Rube Goldberg fix - I hammered some small pieces of hardwood into the spaces below the bollard to stop it from moving downwards (gotta use the thing on Monday). Any warranty advice maybe? I have no idea how to even get the bollard out now that one side is stripped, even if I could get a replacement one.

Pic of the faulty screw - as a wear item if you're adjusting your RRP for different ropes it should'a been better steel to take the wear. The hardwood jamming seemed to work though.

My Rope Runner "Oak" Pro ???

Like I've said many times and regardless of all the other crap that is going on around us, this is a great time to be a tree climber! So many different ways and tools that can accommodate and often even encourage radically different climbing styles.

Climbers need to be aware that this diversity within individual climbing styles is the driving force of what each climber judges "the best" in any given climbing component.
