-New interior with less material and more free flowing design.
-LEATHER chin strap with longer straps
-Wool lining with 2DRY Technology to keep the material wicking sweat away from the head, Polygiene active odor control
-Up N Down technology on the head strap (taken from their bicycle helmet line) keeps strap positioned correctly on the skull, no more one size fits all
-Push slides for adjustment, knob is there as well to loosen or minute tightening that the push adjustments wont give you

So when will these be available? When I look for it online "Kask Super Plasma" I get different images than you have BostonBull. Like it doesn't show the leather chin strap or the new inside or the new earmuff clips.

You have to remember that the USA version is different from all others around the world. These USA helmets are made of a completely different type of plastic, and aren't to be used outside USA, as the NON USA ones are rated for inside USA use.

I believe they will be available in Feb/Mar? That is if the 10-12 of us who are testing these don't have any changes to make to these helmets. Need to run them through their paces and abuse them a bit to make sure Kask is putting out the best possible products for you the consumer. better than having non tree guys wear them around the office and put their seal of approval on it, right?

Boston Bull, thanks so much for the pictures and info!

Blinky, I totally agree with you and basically feel the same way and I'm glad you posted it so I didn't have to.

Looks like the new foam doesn't go into such small strips, maybe it will stay together this time; I bet it's the same type of foam though, don't you think?

New helmet looks good.

Is the sticky inner surface gone from the visor?

Now, I'm just wondering when it will come out and if they will exchange my defective kask?

Is the warranty 1 year did someone say?

I think I've almost had mine a year now, I think.

Sending a helmet back for weeks isn't an option for a lot a folks. Maybe I'm just whiner and all you guys make a lot more money than me, maybe they stand behind their stuff really nice when you have a shop in your back yard but for me, it sucks. I paid ~$160 for that stupid hat and I can't wait to toss it.

You sure have some legitimate gripes, Blinky. However, railing against a large company/corporation is just going to raise your blood pressure and give you ulcers. They don't care about you. They care about shareholder profits and bonuses. We are very fortunate in our industry to have some very well informed and responsive dealers. I see communications with them as being more productive for a satisfactory outcome when purchases turn out to be total flops as in your case.

The new Kask helmets appear to be really nice. I didn't have one of the originals so have nothing to compare other than the Petzl I have used for years. I like many of the features on this new Kask, and if it will hold up through the test of time, it is going to be a good helmet.

The visor, I believe, is still not up to task. You can't have something angled like that with an opening on top without it being filled up with sawdust and rain and such. It needs a wiper closer where it meets the helmet on top.

Wow, I hope they sent them to workers that work with them every day. Guys that HAVE to do actual tree work every day.
We had this whole week off due to the holidays.

Winter season is not going to test out the sweat and crud and long hours, unless they sent some to very Southern states.

There are only 4 or 5 in the north, rest are south and west. We will see how they hold up.

FWIW I have NEVER had a problem with my original Kask, foam is perfect, muffs hold like welded steel, and visor is as tight as the first day I put it on. I feel the few (comparatively speaking) that had problems are more vocal than those who haven't.

We that have had problems are very vocal because we paid 160+ dollars and in the end have an inferior product.

We were on the ground floor when they first came out and now as they build we are left in the basement. Thanks Kask. Hello Petzl.

Yep. This is how software was done for years... we basically paid Kask (a premium price) to beta test.

That new helmet looks really sweet. Maybe they got most of the bugs out this time. What did George Bush say about fool me once?

Dude, they'd love for you to test that hat! Just send, what is it, $180 now? Just send them the sticker price to cover shipping and handling and bam, you're helmet tester.

Thanks to the vocal few for alerting the rest of us to the problems with these hats. I'll wait for the third gen. Vertex is still a great helmet.
