new climbing techniques

hello all,
i have been climbing on a blakes hitch for 4 years now and i realy like it but i want to try something new, mabye the v.t with a pulley under it, can anyone help with pics and how two get the best from it, thanks matt

hey matt. Try looking under the articles section here on the buzz. There you will find an article written by fellow buzzer mark Adams called knot geneology. There you can find a slew of different closed system friction hitches to try out that all work well with a pulley incorporated into the system. Just remember to try them low because every friction hitch responds differently.

If I may also make a suggestion, you may find it helpful to buy a pantin or
cmi foot ascended to help
draw slack out from underneith the hitch. It was about a year ago I was in your same position and decided I wanted something different. I found the vy especially easy to tie and very responsive and my life got even easier when I found the simplicity of adding a pantin into the mix. I then moved from there to srt climbing systems but thats a whole barrell of monkeys to deal with

thanks familytree, ill have a good look at that article, i already have the pantin and i like it for the long haul up. i like the blakes alot but ready to move on up. matt
