That's exactly what my arborplex is labelled! Not literally written on the bag, but that's what I think of it as.Those of us who like an arborplex burner rig line might be skewing those numbers?
Its not silly at all. The theory sounds plausible, but Im neither involved or informed in those matters. I deal with one Producr Engineer and that's it. We both make and send parts or samples back and forth. The business or sales side of things is not my domain. My reason for asking is that the big brands tend to buy for the lowest common denominator, and account for the majority of purchases from vsg. It’s by far the best way to sell the most if your device is easily integrated into a high churn culture. I feel silly even typing this, as I’m sure none of this is likely news to you.
I worked for a company earlier this year that provided a 16 strand climbing rope and tried to insist that I use it.I haven't climbed on Arborplex since the 1990's and never will again. Yes, it's great for natural crotch rigging, but honestly, I can't see any professional arborist, let alone someone who uses SRT/SRS Multicenders ever consider using it anymore for climbing. There are just better ropes out there.

for climbing... I insisted on using the foremans personal rope that he was allowed to pick out once he became a foreman. That was when I got to try out the All Gear 11.8mm.…for natural crotch rigging?
Having seen the abuse it can take, I would too, but I wouldn't mind if it was a bit less nubbly too.I have a nostalgic love for 16 strand, if it was a little more static I’d rock it for SRT and would be my go to rope
It’s all about the texture and ‘meat’…. At least it’s that way for me.Having seen the abuse it can take, I would too, but I wouldn't mind if it was a bit less nubbly too.
I recently bought a little piece of Stein ATOL, a 9mm "16 strand" that has two carriers per strand, and a cross section that looks like a 24 strand, by which I mean a ~1:1 ratio of cover to core. I was hoping for something hard wearing, but it doesn't seem as rugged as I wanted it to be.
I love it when you talk dirty to me.It’s all about the texture and ‘meat’…. At least it’s that way for me.
Have you had any personal experience with Tri Tec? That is hard wearing.Having seen the abuse it can take, I would too, but I wouldn't mind if it was a bit less nubbly too.

Only the filthiest for you, luvI love it when you talk dirty to me.
I have only seen it on someone elses truck, but I have been wanting to try some for a lanyard when the current one in Blaze wears out.Have you had any personal experience with Tri Tec? That is hard wearing.
It’s super hard wearing but I found it to get really snotty/slickery when wet, I’ve found Yales R.I.N.G to last as long if not longer without the slick issue when wet.I have only seen it on someone elses truck, but I have been wanting to try some for a lanyard when the current one in Blaze wears out.
Good to know of RING as an alternative. It’s super hard wearing but I found it to get really snotty/slickery when wet, I’ve found Yales R.I.N.G to last as long if not longer without the slick issue when wet.
