Need ideas for backyard remodelling

I am planning to have my backyard remodelled. I was interested in setting pool and landscape designs with the help of any companies in Toronto. My friend recommended that since I am looking to build a swimming pool, it will be good to go for a vinyl lined one or a gunite concrete. I believe, having a garden next to my pool would make it more homely and pleasing to the eye. Gazebos will add a wooden charm to my poolside area. Putting a small table in it and sipping coffee next to it can be a real delight in the mornings. Having a landscape is also not a bad idea. I also decided to plant some small plants.
My friend had done a backyard remodelling a few years back. To make the backyard greener, she hanged plants with the fence. Being attached to nature can make us feel more relaxed. Hanging plants will give you the illusion of being surrounded by nature and makes your backyard more secluded and private at the same time. From there, I got the idea of attaching a landscape and garden in the pool area. I am also considering adding a patio in my backyard. A patio is a great place to sit back and relax and it is a great place to host summer parties.
All these are my ideas and suggestions. Before fixing, I need to know your suggestions.

You might have realized that the primary focus here is about trees, treecare and taking care of tree workers

Landscape design is a bit on the edge of most people's interests and skills

A consideration you must have during your design process is the affect of construction on the established trees. Any digging or driving near the trees will damage the root system. Too many trees are killed during construction that could have been saved if there were a plan innplace

Changing grades can damage trees too. Either cutting soil away or piling it up on the root zone should be avoided. Grade changes can alterndrainages too

Do some reading on construction damage to trees before starting your design process
 
My educational background is landscape design however and I can tell you that you wont be getting a design consult or drawings/CAD for free, be it over the phone, online, and certainly not in person.

Might as well design in a mini waterfall, somehow, if possible for the pool.

If not, a waterfall pond in conjunction with the pool might be cool.

I'm not clicking that link from a new face.
