Need Engineering Help

1" works, 2" would also work. When I made my Saka like ascender I used the 2" and used the 3/4 as a divider to and to attach the stuff to. I will go out to the truck and grab it so I can take a pic.
 
Okay so it was black at that time but you will get the drift.

So far what I've got. This will be sent out for a spliced lower connection and will connect with a small steel shackle I don't like the biner at all for this application.

I keep tweaking this but just can't seem to get a good stride. Wonder if the Kong ascender isn't the best tool for the job here. I get a lot of upward resistance. Suggestions?
