Neck Lanyard with 1/8 shock cord

I made this neck lanyard with 1/8 dyneema shock cord. I'm not real comfortable with lanyards made out of cordage that will not stetch to allow the head to pass thru for obvious reasons.

This is shock cord sewn together into a loop and then sewn into nylon tubular webbing to make it comfortable around the neck. Small piece of shrink tube to keep the biner in place. Oh, and a little dimensional fabric paint to cover the stitches, also to make it comfortable.

I've not seen the cordage style ones you're concerned about... I bury the shock cord in the cover of some cordage with plenty of slack in the cover then stitch two eyes, one in either end.

Yes, I think the shock cord gives....a way out.
