Tulipifera or populus? That tree looks relatively straight forward. No worries, it's all good...and can be fun!
By the way, Cowboy Dave is like you....he simply gets it done, and fast! Both he and I can size up a tree and know how to do it in a flash.....and our methods are similar. I might sometimes do a bit more rigging (overrigging--I know I have a few times?).....but only if I think there's a good reason for it....and I am a bit slower, perhaps because I follow the Z a bit more than Dave...am older, and not as strong. He's not as fast as some at entry, as he just now got ascenders, and doesn't footlock. But, we often set a retrievable f/c, and pull him up, or use the GRCS....and, could break out the right angle drill for more speed and ease.
A benefit of using a retrievable, is a block and lowering line are already in the tree, if we choose to use the same set-up.
But, as money is coming out my ears,
and I'm old and decrepit, a Wraptor is in my future...
