Biomechanics Research with NASA 2011
If I'm qualified to put it in a nutshell, last year's Tree Fund Biomechanics Week drew the interest of NASA, particularly to determine if the photogrammetry techniques they are using to observe stress and structural deformation can be applied to the roots, stems, branches and entire canopies of trees.
Keep an eye on the facebook site for more detailed stuff hopefully soon to come, beyond the initial posting of pictures and video clips.
