Mystery Shrub

I found this shrub last spring before leaf out and I have not been back. The only thing I could tell you now is it was about 5' tall, 3' wide. Don't remember branching pattern either. But I do have pics of the fruit which I think should be a dead ringer if anyone does recognize them.

Edit: The bud was fuzzy and reminded me of some type of magnolia.

i looked up franklinia and sweetshrub, neither is it.

how about this bracelet though.... ? I think it is modeled after the same thing, but no luck with the name of the plant, ha.
