Muffs on an Ecrin Roc

They dont sit tight on your ears bc of the shape of the helmet. I haven't tried bending the mounting hardware, seeing as it was quite expensive.

I suggest a pair of earplugs to go with this helmet instead of an expensive modification. Live and learn LOL.

Is this an advisable modification?

Who (besides Sherrill) sells the brackets to mount muffs?

I've tried the Vertex and they just don't work for me.

You don't like the Vertex? Do you just not like the muffs on the Vertex?

I didnt like the vertex either. They were too loose. I have the ecrin set up. Initially the muffs wouldnt stay in but I was missing a piece. I havent really used it since I put it together. Ill use it tomorrow and give you a better evaluation.

I don't like the suspension I guess. The muffs feel like they're shifting the helmet when they're in the stowed position.

I'm gonna try to borrow one of The Hammer's Pacifics tomorrow.

the pacific helmets fit really nicely and the muffs sit very well on that hat. the only thing about those hats i would caution you about is that they crack very easily. so take real good care of them.

I know. I dropped a tree on my buddy TR once. The Pacifica did crack

are you sure its the actual kevlar cracking and not just the clearcoat they put over the paint that is cracking? I've had a pacific for years, and there are cracks in the clearcoat, but there are no cracks in the helmet itself.

With Brim or without?

I tried the brimless with muffs today. Liked it a lot.

I'm not sure who sells them, but I've heard that people have had problems with the modification.

Mine came complete with muffs and visor (via the UK), there is a plate that is fastened through one of the vent holes that holds the muff/visor setup. It is adjustable so there is quite a range of movement to customise the fit for you.
My only comment is that I had to bend the muff wire (Peltors) to get them to fit snug to my head...but I have a small head being a small person!
the conversion is SOP in the UK, perfectly acceptable.
