Removed this Fat slob last week . Real cool looking tree , last summer they trapped nine racoons out of this tree . I brushed most of it out before we set up the 23 t crane. It would have been nice to use a bigger crane but the driveways were too tight. It was a log party , all these Spruce trees were wrapped up around this tree. The camera man wasted the last couple shots of the trunk , he's no Peter Parker. Silver Maples don't get much fatter than this old pig.

It was a cool looking tree , we got our game plan on a rain day about a month earlier . There was just enough space between two of the Spruce trees to make the crane work. Throwing the wood on the back of the 23t crane and picking the wood off with the apprentice worked great (that's why we brushed it out). I had a couple great ego shots at the end but Peter Parker picked his nose . Never put the flash on , good grounman otherwise. Bees are a bad word , don't say that word.

So, there isn't a picture of the butt log? Darn.

Lots of logs there. Would have liked to see the size of that butt log.

We did a pretty big (FAT) maple today.

And it was a Red Maple (Acer rubrum)! Which was very suprising to see a Red Maple this size.

Here's the butt log just after felling.
