When Kuemmerling, manufacturer of Mitts and Merrill chippers went out of business last year...did anyone take over his inventory? Rick Woods suggesting asking on here. It all must be somewhere...?

Never lose a feed motor on this chipper :-)

Have you noticed the chipper parts supplier/thread in general discussion?

Even if you exhausted OEM parts possibilities a good fabricator and machine shop could fit up a properly speced hyd motor I would think.

Not looking for a hyd motor. looking for a parts and owner's manual. Also the knife/wedge bolts that push the wedge out to remove and hold the knives. Very unlikely they would be involved in another application. Thanks for info on thread to check.

You wouldn't happen to be able to spare that wedge setup for a week or so would you? I could reproduce it if I had a pattern. Or if you could sketch it out with dimensions enough to make one. I have had a few calls on M&M machines but haven't been able to help much on the parts specific to them.

I am sorry but it is all set up and running with brand new knives torqued down. No extra wedges. But I will keep you in mind next time we replace/turn knives.

I didn't know you have a Mitts, Dave! That was my first chipper.... as you know, it's the best non self feeding chipper ever made, which is not as much due to the staggered knives, as the location of the anvil, which is quite a ways above the bottom of the drum, which slows the chip rate, and helps create a smaller chip. Sold mine in 2000 and replaced it with a 250XP.

Hi Roger, Yeah I had a 16" Mitts as my first big chipper back in early 70's til my first self feeder in '99, a bc 1250A. It was real nostalgic buying this one for a back up and small job and space tool. We love it and this one has a sweet Perkins Diesel.
