Mini loader in chip box

I am looking into some ramps to get the mini into the chip box. Height is 52" so this could present some issues. Wondering if any one else is doing this? 10'12'r 14 ' ramps? Any issues with steepness of ramps? Thanks

I looked into some type of ramp to put a mini-EX into the back of an F550 dump. Never actually did it, as a cam tilt trailer came along. But I found that the entry ramps for auto displays at car dealerships in theory should have supported the weight of 8k lbs.... -They show up on craigslist every now and then.

Depending on the weights, the steel tractor ramps from harbor freight might work, if they were welded together to get the height/length you needs. I might also place a brace under them halfway and then connect them to each other with some threaded rod to keep them spaced properly.

BTW, the harbor freight ramps will not get an F250 out of a ditch without deforming... just sayin...

These are 7.5' ramps rated at 10, 000 lbs. They are a bit steep, but they do work. 8 foot is as long as I can go on the ramps, and still be able to put them in the ladder box (or plywood box).

I made 9' ramps to put a full size loader (9k) onto a F700 dump, raised the bed to about 30 degrees and the ramps leveled to the same. Welded brackets to the edge of the bed to hold the ramps. The ramps weigh about 250 lbs each. Take a 2x4 set it on the bed, raised it some and see what it looks like

I think my platform is 42" high, and a 10' long ramp would make it a lot safer and easier for that height (I don't really let anyone else load/unload the mini on/off the truck). So for a 52" height I would tend to agree a 12' ramp would probably be best.

Those look like my DiscountRamps.Com ramps that Carl/Lumberjack suggested. Mine are 10' long, for a 42" load height, if I recall correctly. Brackets on the back end of the dump body. I load forward because I can squeak in that way, with 1" to spare. Its nicer to load downhill if your load height is high. Beware heavily crowned streets.

Its not F'ing around loading at that height, but not a big deal for a good operator. I don't have employees load it on to there, FWIW.

12' would be better for your height.

I load my 25g in the back of my truck once in a while. It's actually a little if a pain. I have to take the tail gate off (I NEVER load over the tailgate), and jack knife the chopper. The ramps came with the machine and are 2500# capacity and 12' long and a load height of 54". They are unruly to handle at best. And on top of that I can't have any chips in the truck or it don't fit (if I had a bigger truck it might be nicer). Overall it's a last ditch effort for me to get the equipment to the job in one trip.

They are from discount ramps. I want to try their new ones sometime, because this one isn't the best when icy...especially with any side lean. It is very easy for the equipment to slide sideways on the ramps.

I measured my deck, it is 39 inches high. When I got these ramps I was loading onto a lower deck, ever a nice I hot this truck I've been looking for new ramps. Just can't find what I want.

But it works...just can be a bit nerve racking at times

We carry our ditch witch in the back of the truck and our nifty sd50 on the trailer. We have a dedicated chip truck and chipper. We are in the process of building a truck similar to climbhightree. We go up onto the trailer and then up another set of ramps into the truck. I'll get some pics this week

We also do this often so we can get the stump grinder in the chip box and still carry the wheel loader on the trailer. Plus it makes a nice low loading angle into the chip box.
