micro pulley prusik application

Greetings fellow climbers
I am new to this forum, and still a toddler as a climber, been in a little over a year now. I recently moved across country, and am encountering trees foreign to me and my day to day connifer climbs, which account for a large majority of my experience. I am to the point where I have accumulated the essential must haves for gear, and realize if I want to progress as a climber, I need to be able to adapt to new situations, and expanding my gear. For the large Oaks and Beech trees for example, where limb walking is almost always required, and I find myself at more extreme and awkward angles, a vertical anchor /support to augment my lanyard is an absolute must. I have never climbed with a micro pulley / prusik, but have them. As I said I just moved here and dont know anyone here with the know how. I've been climbing for a guy with the clients and insurance, but that is where his involvement ends. Can someone coach me as best as one on a forum can, or direct me to another resource on how to safely utilize this technique? The advantages\pit falls? Alternatives? Thanks in advance for your time in reading and responding.

First thing to do is work out the best rope on rope, i.e 8mm on 11mm.
Then know all the prusik knots, such as distal, VT etc.
TBH it takes a lot of trial and error to get the best setup, but if you want a quick fix, buy an art positioner.

There's some good information here. You can scroll down and see a whole world of PDF's on different subjects.

Best of luck!
