I just finished reading (actually rereading) a great true story about one of the last High Climbers from the 1940's and the highball logging era.

The book is about a climber named Carroll D. Ault. He was legally blind when he left Nebraska and migrated west to become a logger.

Knowing that the best way to stay safe was to stay close to his work, because of his poor eyesight - he slowly worked up to the coveted title of High Climber.

He worked for years, climbing, topping and rigging the big spars from those long ago days of logging.

A great read. Here's the link to the book on Amazon.com
