So I was board at work and threw this together real quick. Not sure about anything but I thought I would throw the pics up for discussion. No idea about possible patents or any other crap. I don't plan on getting rich, just tossing a really rough concept out there.

Hi Frank, were you thinking of spring loading the discs to squeeze or are the discs offset to create multiple bends in the rope. Or maybe you didn't get that far after watching rabbits.

Beautiful drawings or illustrations, Frank. I'm not yet getting what it is that will cause the rings to clamp down on the rope, though. My own lack of imagination, I guess.

The cool part of your idea is that if it can be made to work, it will probably provide a much more consistant response to the rope than all of the various hitch cords do. Nice idea.

Tough is not the word I tend to think of first....

How would putting your weight on it make the 'circles' 'clench' the rope?

How again would it release when it un-weights?

How would you smoothly release it with weight?

Just because we don't have the answers yet, doesn't mean we shouldn't ask the questions.
