Master II

So I am a novice climber that has been doing mainly small diameter deadwooding and haven't really had to carry much weight on my harness. However the other day I was hauling up some items and it came to be that my belt is a little big around the waist and was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on making suspender attachments to help it from falling down in the back when foot locking up or repelling down.

I'd thought about using the webbing that I use to make slings out of and running it through the center loop on the back and then try to find something in the front to attach to the saddle to run the webbing through.

ive thought of using the webbing not for the suspenders themselves but using them as an attachment. wrap a web around the whole backpad of the saddle and loop the other end through, quick and easy attachment point via quicklink or light biner. and if you dont want it to move once you found that sweet spot, just put a few threads through and sew it in place.

I've added suspenders to a Master II in 2 ways.
1. A long loop of webbing.I sewed it together up the back leaving a loop that I clipped to the rear belay loop and brought the 2 tails over the shoulders and installed friction buckles-Clipped the loops to the upper attachment poits on the saddle (I never clip my climbing line into those 2 upper side attachments anyway) This worked fine. it could have been installed permanently but I chose to clip in with mini 'biners and keep it removable/transferable.
2.When I started playing with SRT I installed a Petzl Croll and Secur suspenders The Secur suspender system is so basic that you can look at a pic and figure it out-Webbing and a friction buckle is all it takes. I now just use the Secur and Croll on every climb-But unless you are doing SRT at least part of the time it doesn't make sense to pack around the extra gear-the Croll on one's midriff doesn't get in the way much but it isn't as comfy as plain suspenders.
