Just wondering if any of you guys have used a chipper winch to raise a tip tied piece. I found myself in somewhat of a bind today with a pretty large cherry lead stretching out over a roof. The clearance from limb to roof was minimal and there was a house drop in close proximity. I had only 1 ground guy, so pulling the piece up manually wasn't an option. I ran a static line through a high and low pulley, boxed it and undercut. It worked beautifully, but I don't think I would rely on this method too often. Have any of you guys done this?
