I know there’s a lot going on with oils and lubricants for equipment ! I’ll start with this question. What heavy duty diesel engine oil are you happy with? I’ve recently learned it’s possible rotella has taken some additives out of their oil , the price has lessened along with quality? Anyone else here what I heard through grapevine in regards ?! Any other enhancements or changes in the world of oils, grease , what have you, people with equipment would want to know !?

We use Rotella and haven’t noticed any changes
So about 10 years ago we switched all of our hydraulic fluid over to ATF/Dexron III
I was told that it’s the cleanest hydraulic oil you can purchase and the othe advantage is we don’t stock 5 different types of hydraulic oil!
A little more money but so much simpler for me and employees.
KISS policy

That’s amazing to me on the dextron/hydro oil..I’ve herd you say that before , I just always assumed there was so many different factors in individual hydraulic systems that blows my mind albeit they’re have similar properties in many regards
As far as rotella I’m with you , I’ve always liked it , just heard they stopped putting in some of the additives in the oil that made it such high quality! When I had 7.3 diesels we always put a bottle of arch oil with every oil change used as recommended for friction modifier to eliminate or reduce injector stiction.
There’s a lot a shit to know out a lotta stuff and I like iiiittt

I'm using Valvoline premium blue 5w40 in both my chip truck and f350 7.3l. The power stroke loves it, and archoil additive seems to have helped with hard starts/sticky injectors. It's made for Cummins (biased since I also work for them), but it is the bees knees. Good videos on it on the tube
I herd archoil very helpful for all huey injector systems I had a 3126 cat motor it seemed to help with stiction

Just got on my grease schedule and realized with the Lucas red and tacky knock on wood I have not had to change but one bearing for quite sometime as well
Anyone have high quality grease suggestions they’re happy with I love the red and tacky so far but haven’t tried many other products
We use red n tacky and have had great results with it

How does it flow in the cold? I had some grey multi purpose but it is way to thick in the cold
