Looking for a new harness

I kind of made my mind up on buying a Sequoia, but now i'm not sure.

Will mainly be used for trimming, Some take downs with spikes. And a day or two a month doing crane work.

We use a bucket almost all the time. Most of the trimming is maybe an hour here and there. Its the crane work that has me wondering if the Sequoia is the right choice.

From what I have read, I want a sadle with a butt strape, but I have also seen a few people with one on a Sequoia.

I have been trying to stay in the range of $350 or so. If I need to spend more to be happy, I will though.

why a butt strap, are you sitting down a lot? sequia is nice, but if your not climbing everyday i dont see why you should spend that kind of money, i like the black widow by buckingham (or weaver maybe?) its cheaper than the newer saddles but light weight (when compaired to the other saddles they make)

After years with a legstrap Weaver, I ordered a buttstrap (Versatile) saddle today. You really need to try both styles out and make a decision for yourself.

I have a master. I like it but think im going back to the versatile due to sore hip left side.(saw side) does any think spenders would help the hip thing

Maybe move your saw to the middle of your saddle in back.Suspenders may help but I would recommend giving that hip a break and trying the center.

Our main climber is telling me to try the Versatile. Thats what he has, but it is too small for me to try on. I am just guessing I will like the leg straps. It seems it will be easier to extend from one limb to another.

Does anyone know of a place in the MA,CT,RI,NH area that I could go and try on different ones? It would be worth a few hour drive just to make sure I am happy.

I meant to give Russ mad props for the Hanson Brothers avatar.

From the Hanson Brothers website -

"Did you actually “foil up?”
No, but we taped our hands like boxers until the leagues banned it. After that, we scuffed up the knuckles of golf gloves, soaked them in water, and dried them on the radiator until they were nice and crispy. We made sure that we got in a fight on our first shift because they softened up after we started sweating."

Classic.
