Arbor Wear. These pants are bullet proof. actual bullet no.

I've worn them all. Even military issue stuff and these outlast everything. These guys got it bang on!
Best part is they are comfy.
Nylon wears great, and has some stretch
Double layer on the fronts so you can rig off your knee, just kidding!
Everything is a go with these pants.

Dont joke, I've got a sweet rope burn scar that'll probably stick with my for years after having a rigging line run across the top of my thigh! Yes it hurt! And no I dont think the tech pants would have helped. lol

All this talk of these arborwear pants makes me want to run out and grab some.

Dickies logger pants for dirty pine removals if I'm on a stem for a long time.

Techs for everything else :)

Don't you wear chainsaw pants?

why would I? I'm the boss

and they are too damn hot and don't suit my style of climbing.
If I'm bucking, I wear chaps

They are the best. Plain and simple.
Take these examples my first pair are 3 yrs old and my favorite because I shortened them to 28" inseam so they do not get in the way of my feet and gear and out of mud and snow.
1.the crotch has never blown out( I could spend 30 or more hard earned dollars every year fixing crotches, zips and buttons,
2. zippers are strongest,
3. waist button connector is holding em up well,
4. stitching is highly durable,
5. wash up pretty clean and look pretty good
6. Green jeans cut and style is pretty cool
7. Pockets everywhere you need them and the front pockets are big enough to hold a handful of biners.
8. unlike cotton(more like a sponge) these pants hold less heat and moisture

Less expansive would be cool but I'm sure something would be sacrificed.

Hey Ropeshield you wear chaps with the Arborwears vs chainsaw pants.

[/ QUOTE ]

Yep. Snap on Snap off.
We have 3 chaps going and couple of pants with the truck and in the equipment chest.. So there is no excuse not to have on..
On big removals I will put the chainsaw pants.
You really feel the difference with the chainsaw pants in the tree, its more tiring. Hot and bulky plus every time you lift your leg there is to much friction.

I believe your experience Brandon, but I've never had that happen to me. I've been using Dickies Cargos (65% poly & 35% Cotton) for years now.

reading this makes me want to try out arborwear stretch.

Arborwear tech are very durable. for me they have some restricted movement when climbing, but not too bad. They are hot in the summers here though.

I broke down and bought the stretch airs a couple years ago (almost embarrassed to say that cause the cost), they seem very durable and full flexability, but the kevlar knees make me sweat in the summer.

My favorite pants for everything from climbing, hiking, a day of phc, etc, are soft shell pants like these, but next time I buy softshell pants I'm gonna search for sales.

When it was 80% humid and in the high 90+ degrees here in mass for weeks on end this summer, I was hating those dickies. They are pretty bulletproof though.

I swear by the Arborwear tech pants...basically my main pants... cotton sucks in comparison. They wear like iron...but... as with most tech fibre gear...watch out for flame!
You don't look like a gear geek in them as you do with some of the high teck climbing pants.
I recently met a guy my age because of his pants...I said are you an arborist...he said no...National Outdoor Leadership School instructor... I asked about the pants...he said best pants period! NOLS carries them for their staff.

They don't dry for crap, and they are two sizes larger at the end of the day after they loosen up.

I dissed the over priced Arborwear for years, now I can't see buying any other pants.
