cant go wrong with the big shot, its awesome, and fun. but the treepedo looks good. like you said boreality,if its all thats its cracked up to be, it could be a handy tool. anyone have a treepedo that wants to talk about it?

My biased opinion as a practicing arborist that throws and BS regularly is I will throw the Treepedo any time any where. Adaptable. Fun and exciting to use. It obviously works for me in my tree work and that is what gives me the confidence to share the tool with you. The Treepedo is multi-purpose 1. projectile/ two way tree torpedo, 2.smoothes over line to rope transition up to 7/8", 3. pull handle and 4. helps smooth over security end line knot. Customizable meaning its as good as your imagination. Design the exterior, attachments for lines and ropes etc.
throw bags have worked fine for most for many years but for me the problems with throw bags and line placements forced me to reimagine the throw weight. I just want to share my 21st Century invention.

I found up to 70' carbon fiber commercial quality poles. They weigh only 15lbs. and are made for window washers. The problem is they cost over $4000. I'm gonna order a treepedo.

The 2010 Treepedo design comes with some cool new modifications. web updates coming soon.

Thanks

The biggest shortcoming of the BS is the latex power tubing - it gets really weak in cold temps.

BS works fine in minus 5 degrees fahrenheit. I have been using it for about 8 years in Southern Ontario shooting on average 60 feet with out any failure of tubing. If i pull it any harder than that will it snap at me?

Treepedo,
It's kind of a tricky thing. The tubing doesn't fail in cold, it just gets anemic. moss has done quite a bit of experimenting with latex tubing in cold climates. The effect of cold is so pronounced that he now keeps the tubing warm until he's ready to use it.

The tubing moss is using is not the same size as the BS, but both are latex tubing. I suppose it's possible that the tubing used on the BS is a different latex composition and may not be as sensitive to cold, but that's a long shot, pardon the pun.

It may be that you are not making high shots and are stretching the tubing more than would be necessary in warm weather.

i think ill just get out my old spudzooka, tie a string around a potato, throw it in the barrel, fill with aerosol, spark the grill igniter, and BOOM 200 yard shot!

ill bet you could get into redwoods with a potato!

Tried my new treepedo today, finally. I liked it. Just did one install but I'd say I got better performance than a throw bag. Needs some more practice as it flys different but it ricocheted into the crotch where a bag wouldn't of and was easier to manipulate by jigging.

The rope install was super smooth with half the treepedo working like a skidding cone over the end of the rope.

I can't wait to use it more and master it. Sems like a new and improved tool which could pay for itself in a couple days, or one frustrating moment.

It wobbled in the air. As I'm an archer I'd like to see plastic fletching on it. They'd rip off too quick though and it would need constant repair. There is also some small patrs to keep track of in the field. Like a screw and cotter pin, I'll have to figure out some kind of container to keep everything together. I found the throw bag easy enough to lose so this could be a challenge for me.
