So here's the deal. I'm taking a dip in the Ohio river in a couple of weeks. I am doing this to raise money for the Special Olympics, and more importantly, to try to raise more money than Chris O'Bryan.

Right now I'm about $350 behind him, but I have time, we have time, to make this a fundraising event he will wish he never got involved in.

If everyone gives just like $3.50 or so, I can close the gap, and most likely surge ahead. Either way, I come out of thus thing dripping wet and hypothermic.

Do the right thing. http://soky.kintera.org/faf/donorReg/mob...amp;scWidth=480

Actually, it only takes about 2 minutes or less to donate if you have a PayPal account.

Don't let the Special Olympics down, take advantage of the opportunity to make Chris O'Bryan look weak compared to me.

Sorry Sean, I thought it did have a Paypal button. It's just a secure payment processing page. I donated, and it took me about two minutes to get the payment through. Pretty painless, and $35 closer to humiliating Chris O'Bryan with my superior fundraising skills.

Seriously, I'll take any sized donation. $1.50 all the way up to $45,900.00

If you are donating more than 46 large, you should be dealing directly with the Special Olympics.

No way!

I can tell just by the picture in your avatar that you don't have what it takes to be a polar bear.

And thank you Chip for your donation!

I joke about wanting to raise more money than Chris, but really, if you've ever been involved in a Special Olympics event, and see the triumph of the human spirit overcoming seemingly insurmountable obstacles....I hear it's really something to experience. Never been to one personally.

And I just saw that Limbwalker SeaTrees team has just crossed the $1,000 level! There are many things to be thankful for in this life.

Keep the faith.

I can't help that I am a Steelers fan, but you should be forewarned that Chris is a Bears fan....so...

Bears are ok....

You can help it... you just need to start rooting for they team closest to your new locale! We need all the help we can get!

The Special Olympics is an awesome organization! They do great things!

I had the pleasure of working Special Olympics events in Birmingham when i was a teenager... a not very nice, drug addled, under-achieving teenager as function of my 'Alternative School'. They turned those kids, who really ARE special, loose on 80 or so guys whose sole distinction was, we had been arrested at school for violent offenses. It was an inspired idea.

It really will change you, I don't care who you are. You won't experience that kind of unconditional love and joy ANYWHERE else. It can also be really difficult and will challenge you in ways you aren't prepared for. The kids and the people who care for them are a gift, not a burden... they give us all a chance to be better than we are.

Don't miss this opportunity.

I didn't see a direct PayPal option. How's that work without a PayPal Debit Card?

Thanks for your donation Sean! This weekend looks like it won't be too polar for the jump in the river, but I think to compensate, Cincinnati sent more sewage downstream.

The Limbwalkers have set up a try-athelon (as in, try and get pneumonia) for this weekend. After we jump into the river, we will hop on bikes and ride back to the shop, and run a beer mile.

You might not hear from me after this weekend, as I have neglected to consult with my imaginary physician regarding running, biking, and jumping into a river full of hepatitis.

But it is all for a great cause.

I shiver just thinking about swimming in cold water. Brrrr!

Best of luck for it.

Any major credit card or debit should work, for anyone else making a donation in the last few days.
