leg scabbard's

Re: leg scabbard\'s

The sawpod has been one I have used for the past few years. It really stays secure to your leg. Mine has a zubat saw, I found that using a cable tie to attach the scabard to the saw pod helps hold it in there.

They are priced pretty reasonably, giver er a try.

Re: leg scabbard\'s

I agree with Timberjack. My sawpod started falling apart on day one. I Think I'm going to make my own. The neoprene bone just needs to be stronger. Real simple design.

Re: leg scabbard\'s

Yeah its not bulletproof but hell, there is really no gear out there an arbo can't turn out in a short ammount of time. Super comfy, extremly flexiable, stays put, the pressure is really spread out over your whole leg so no hot spots or pinchy points. Use it and abuse it, when it wears out, replace it, to me its worth a few bucks extra for the added comfort, and I don't even know its on turn the day.

Whiz shared a cool mode to make it even more solid. I haven't tried it yet but sounds like a cooll trick.
Remove the chrome zubat logo plate via 4 small screws. Place sawpod legs strap in desired position on zubat scabbard. Mark the 4 screw holes, then heat up an appropriate diameter wire, coathanger, screw driver etc and burn the 4 holes into the velcro leg strap. Then replace the chrome zubat logo plate, sandwitching the velcro strap in place and screw down. Now the scabbard will keep from loosening, and wanting to slide out of the saw pod.

Re: leg scabbard\'s

For $25 sawpod cant be beat. I havent tried fitting it in place with spurs on, but for pruning, I'm absolutely in love with it. (Using it with a Zubat as well)!

Re: leg scabbard\'s

I tried a weaver leg scabbard a long time ago and found it didn't stay in place. Wanted to slide around too much. I use the sugoi set up and find no complaints.

Re: leg scabbard\'s

it has alot of strap placement option so i think ill try and experiment with different set ups. i was thinking if i dont like the stock straps, im gonna use some buckles from my old worn out saw chaps and then use some thick webbing into the buckles to make a custom on and off straps.
