Least expensive 4-wheel-drive lawn / garden tractor

Doing some research on 4x4 lawn / garden tractors.

Who makes the least expensive one?

I don't necessarily need 4-wheel-drive, but I definitely don't want an open rear diffeential, it would at least need a locker.

Thanks for any help.

Hi Gear G. The same question asked in the forum section "Rubber Hits The Road" will have a lot more of the right people see it to answer you.

There are many forum sections on TreeBuzz that I never or almost never visit. I suspect it's the same for others.

Per your question I see Mahindra (sp) tractors at a place that also sells low end dump trailers near me.

Mahindra is an affordable machine. I have had a 35 HP compact tractor since 2001 and it has never let me down. They are strong for their HP class and are set up well for with their controls. Only thing (and I think they have changed it) is all the plastic fender extensions don't hold up. Even to the temp changes. If you are looking for something for lawns I would look at the 23hp range. My 35 weighs around 7k but it's a stable machine for it.

Thanks for the advice, merle. I'll post the same question over in Rubber/Road. I'll also check out the Mahindra tractors.
