eright we all have been in some less the comfortable lanyard situations . right. it is a topic i am fimilair with , was wondering after being lanyarded in ,, be it with a grillion a two way lanyard a petzel one way / micro grab or a gibbs , how a prusik in between any of these is useful? i have seen pictures of competion climbers with such a set up? use your imagination here please ,,, start at a d ring, you have a clip/ beener, a splice or a knot , maybe even a thimble, some rope/ use your favorite kind here, a prusik? and a rope grab and we end at the other d ring. {saddles still have d rings dont they}? ,, we are lanyarded in now. maybe because sherril doesnt sell it , i cant explain it,

A gibbs wont release under pressure. And a hitch will run smoother. Imagine the lanyard as a small climbing line. Now imagine how well a gibbs would work as a friction hitch on your climbing line instead of your tautline or blakes.
Its a refined system.

A prussic is to be used INSTEAD of the ascender device, not in CONJUCTION with one.

I personally prefer a prussic over an ascender. Still working on the Duck and Positioner though......!

i get that when my weight is on my gibbs i have to weight off to get more.. but why a prusik in front of the gibbs?

NO GIBBS, Prussic is used INSTEAD of an Ascender (Gibbs, positioner, etc)

Didnt Ben teach you anything before he..........

The Prussik is if you want to choke around a branch. You put your snap in the prussik instead of directly on your rope. This way you dont side load your snap. Ill try to get some pics up.

Ah I forgot about that configuration. Use it anytime you need to triangulate your positioning and your lanyard would only be long enough used SRT style.

Not realy. Depends on the situation. Mostly when i need extra stability. Sometimes its more confy to choke around a branch and put your biner thats on your lanyard adjuster (gibbs, micro, positioner, cinch, distel...) on your bridge ring. Gives you like a second mini-system. Im not sure what the rope we use is but its fairly strong. I wouldnt hang my life on it tough. Ill put up some pics if my girl doesnt come home too late, she left with my car (and my saddle).
