Lanyard set ups- help

Ok after going to the ITCC a few weeks ago I forgot something. The guys were talking about useing a different setup for my lanyard in compair to what I use now the Micro cender. As soon as someone posts it I will know the name but not the set of it.
Thanks

Screw all that metal, use a friction hitch with a snap for a tender.

You know, I agree. It's lighter, bidirectional (well, if a prusik is used), inexpensive, readily replaceable, and with Blinky's solution to the tending issue, it's hard to beat.

I used to use those hip prussiks religiously, but I got the little purple micro-grab a month or two ago, and have been very pleased with it.
It's not bi-directional, but since I use a split tail rig, that's not much of an issue. It operates even when it gets full of pitch, too.

agreeded...that's my current favorite. I go the one step further and direct tie the hitch to the D ring with the rope through the D as a tender.
