ladders for tree work???

I will disagree a bit, whats that about not 3 cutting because it CAUSES rips and tears?

The 3 cut is the way a pro does it.

The reason for him recommending not using this cut is because of the potential for the saw to get caught in the kerf of the piece falling and yanking the saw.

At 14:20 wouldn't it also be good to advise not yanking a saw that is pinched. This could potentially throw someone off balance or push the ladder or cause a severe kick back since the chain brake was never applied...

Its the way green climbers that don't have enough experience to know better do it...

That's the way they train you at Davey???
The ISA is still using it in their printed material..

The fact that our "experts" are still teaching this technique is proof of just how much ignorance there is at every level of this industry... This cut should have gone the way of tree topping, 20 years ago... But its still in the books....
