KONG Cambuim savers - good or bad?

My friend has one, and I advised him it was bad news, that said I checked and the cambium savers have not had bad press unlike the rings of a few years back.

Has anyone got any thoughts on this?

Kong has some good products, sorry they used some bad judgment in the past.
I find RtoR fiction savers are just not worth the effort. (For me most of the time)

I know kong stuff is neat (esp. the foot ascender), but most knock them over the ring issue, thats my main concern.
