Kolibri/Treemotion saddles blah blah blah

Yo dudes! I have been a passive viewer on the buzz for a while, and this is my cherry poppin' post.

I'm working daily in a Skylotech Kolibri right now,and I love it. I'm going through a gear phase right now and have been considering a Treemotion for 2011. Who else out there is sitting in a Kolibri, (if anyone) and can offer any side by side comparison with a Treemotion. At this point in saddle selection for me, its all about nuances and tiny things that make me justify dropping the bucks on a treemotion

Welcome to the buzz. The treemotion is great and go to treestuff.com to get some more info and reviews about it. There is also a link to a video my cousin and I made that might give some insights of some of the options you can do.

Treemotion for myself but not every saddle is made for every person, it's about preference.

I owned a kolibri. Didn't like it. Sat up a bit too high for my liking and cut off circulation to my legs, which is the opposite of what I thought it'd do.

I own a treemotion as well and its my favorite saddle of all time.

I also just bought crazy jimmys ergovation. this is my second go around with this saddle. I don't feel as if I gave it a fair enough shake the first time and honestly I'm looking for a versatile saddle that I can use as a fall arrest harness and put a bosun seat on eventually if I ever need it. That said, it'll probably sit in my truck collecting dust for awhile.

Thats the thing I dislike about it some days, its halfway up my back,or too low digging into my hip bones. The leg slide design is great but the damn thing takes for ever to get into, and screws my pant legs up which sucks when its 17 degrees and windy!

Im sold on a Treemotion, just gotta pony up the $$$. Has anyone tried a Pinto micro pully on the bridge? I have climbed in glide light with a micro on the bridge and there is NO friction.

I like the Petzl Sequoia. Not as versatile as TreeMotion, but a lot less expensive, and one of the lightest saddles on the market. NOT a good saddle for hanging a big saw from for long periods, though. Really more of a "pruning" saddle. But it is super light, comfortable and ergonomically I'd give it a "B".

anything bigger than a 260 and I'm hanging it off my rope, not my saddle :)

and i agree, the Sequoia is a great all-around choice and will hang a 260 all day without sweating a drop ;)
