Kolibbri Multislide Harness

Arborcare,
Do you have trouble with the leg pads shifting around on you? I've noticed that on the Hummingbird I tried. And what about the lack of buckles for the leg straps? Does that bother you?

As so far as the leg pads sliding, I have never experienced that. I crank them down pretty good and they stay in place. I'm not sure what you mean about the buckels for the legs. I am not exactly happy with a step through on the legs but other than that, I'm great with the saddle.

The leg supports on the Kolibri just has a step through design rather than having buckles like almost every other harness on the market. I was just curious if that step through design is a nuisance.

My pads do move a little. Some days more than others. Maybe due to how tight the straps are; mine are probably med. tight.
The pads are actually rivetted in place on the leg straps. So it's the strap that moves.
It's very easy to just shift your weight to one side a little; pull on the offending strap; & its comfy again.

Now if I can just interrupt the throwbag thread with something a little more optimistic. I'd not only like to congratulate but thank this company for creating such a superb product.

Now I'm not a harness junky by any means, but this one suits me so well that I'd almost consider buying 2 of them.

To wear something so critical to your safety, only to forget about it almost immediately has got to be a good sign. The realistic design, fabrication and comfort has actually given me an extra sense of confidence that I didn't realize I was missing.

Just when you start to believe that nothing can surprise you....

I think I would get annoyed with the leg loops not having a quick release buckle for kicking the saddle off.

I have tried the Kolibri out briefly, and was impressed by its comfort and functionality. I've got a TreeMotion on backorder. Should I cancel it for the Hummingbird?

Don’t get mad Kentucky sawyer, I’d say the reward is worth it.

The hardened leg-loops are real comfortable, and the fact that they rotate, as pointed out by GregManning is a bonus IMO. I can adjust them to suit whatever task or maneouvre I’m performing.

The attachment points are exactly where I want them i.e. I have always hung the saw up on my right side, where it is easiest to reach, is perfectly which is perfectly accommodated by the harness.

The bridge is terrific, it has a real smooth action without actually slipping too easily

I like the fixed position of the side Ds because not only are they so easy to find, but they do a great job of isolating the karabiner, so there is very little chance of is getting snagged and Heaven forbid….come undone! This position also means you get a great visual on it so if something were a miss you’d more than likely spot it quite quickly.(see attachment)

After many years, finally making the switch from a seat to leg-loops has been a very easy transition with the Kolibri, because it feels like a seat but with added freedom and better alignment.
And to look at it closely, to appreciate this well thought out design, one could only conclude that an extremely thorough and conscientious individual was the brains behind it…..you can certainly see where your money’s gone.

Perhaps I should have posted in rant and rave but it seemed easier just to add on this thread.

I wish I could report such positivie more often but there you have it for what its worth.
