(pesky Brits!)

Fresco carries them..........I stand corrected...biner, beanar, krab, metal connector thingy, life line holder-in-placer, you get my point I hope. I had 5kn in my head for some reason. Count it up to altzheimers.

Kentucky,
So you use the mini sling per say to get past the rule that you can't have rope snap on rope snap rule? I know you're using carabiners but it's kind of the same thing there. That's a neat little way to get around that rule.

So, the update on the saddle. I love it. I have been having a lot of back pain after a day in the tree. I think its because i've been climbing with my center of gravity on the waist belt and now its below the waist on the bridge. I feel pretts soar like i've been tense and tight all day long. Maybe it's because I have. I lost my best guy and am having a nearly impossible time finding new employees. Super stressed out. Had a big Oak takedown, complicated but I thought 10 hours. Well I did my 10 and now have another day needed. Much down time waiting for the ground crew to keep up. Had to rescuedule about 5 jobs because if it. It's times like this where I'd like to sell the buisness and just climb for somebody. Sure is a bitter sweet to sell. There is so much pride with owning my own outfit and getting those checks. I've gone from a old trailer to haul brush to pretty nice stuff. Anyway enough of my sob story. I do like the saddle. Just with it had some stitched in boat snaps for the saw lanyard like the buckinghams have. Thanks for the link to paragear Tom. Its working out well.

A few different companies in the US carry the Kolibri including American Arborist and Fresco. Getting good pics is somewhat more difficult. If you speak German this site might help you, it also shows the suspenders and other accessorys you can get:

If you don't speak German, this site has some good info as well:

send me a pm if you are interested and I can put you in contact with several people who have bought the harness if you would like more information.

I recently received a 2nd D-Ring (from Germany) & installed it on the bridge. Rich H. restitched the webbing for me. (I'm using his anchor bridge.)

Note: Kolibri does make a replacement bridge webbing strap. It has a screw in the "folded-saftey-end" of the webbing. This allows replacement, or the installation of a 2nd D-Ring w/o re-stitching.

The saddle is extremely comfortable. It has lots of adjustments.
I pulled the two adjustment straps that hold 1)the rings for the leg straps & 2)the bridge all the way up. This pulls the CG up (good for me); and moves the leg straps sideway across my thigh, instead of up thru the groin area (better for me !).
Also, shortening the waist band w/ the buckle on the BACKSIDE, helps w/ both of the above, & moves the side D-Ring back. It also lengthened the bridge. (Good)

I really like the solid plastic leg supports, w/ padding on the inside surface. It readly spreads out the support area.

I've had no problem w/ the adjustment straps / buckles creeping during use.

One last note: I am a newby rec climber ....... so it like the grocery store ..... take what you can use & leave the rest.

Noted some comments previously about the lack of accessory attachment points.
Correctly stated previously ….. there are no permanent snaps …..

However, there are several sets of attachment points, which are not obvious in the photos:

1. There are 6 flex-cord loops (~ 2” X 3”) sewn into the back waist webbing. They have wear tubing.

2. There is a vertical loop sewn into the waist band webbing ~ 1-1/2” behind each of the side D-Rings. I have 2 non-locking biners installed. They are captured in a vertical orientation.
I will probably switch from 20 mm gate, to Paddle biners.

3. Non-Obvious:
The 2 Side D-Rings each have 4 horz. slots (<~ 1/8” High X 1-3/4” L).
There are 2 slots on top of the Ring, and 2 on the bottom.
These are intended as accessory attachment points.
The top slots could be used for suspenders, or a chest ascender harness, etc.
In the bottom slots, I have installed a couple of ½” W, but very short web straps w/ small plastic friction buckles.
In the straps I installed a couple of #2 bronze snaps (3/4” X 3-3/8”). These have an attachment eye that is 90° to the hook. This keeps the hook pointed outward.

For my 020T, the lanyard long end ring gets attached to the front bronze snap.
The lanyard ring, close to the handle, attaches to the accessory biner.
The closest flex-cord loop, in the back, has a ¾” Trigger snap, attached w/ a split ring. This clips onto the chain brake when moving to keep the saw horz. & the chain away from ropes. (Thanks Rich H. for the idea.)

Hope this is of some use for anyone considering this saddle.

You'd be welcome to give mine a ride, but I won't be in Hawaii. :-(
Stop by the next time you're vacationing in OH. ;-)
My next "stop" is KY ISA .......... See Ya Roger !

Any chance that this harness might be available for testing at ISA Hawaii?

Hey Leon,

I will have a sample Kolibri in Hawaii for anyone who wants to check it out. I should have it with me during the ITCC as well as the expo. Fresco does not have a booth at the expo, so you can find me at the All Gear booth.

If all goes well I should have a TreeFlex with me as well.
