Do the Turbo rollers really make a lot of difference vs a CT foot ascender or is it just icing on the cake?
No comparison, IMHO. The turbochest is the best up the rope ascender I know for a knee ascender. Tried all offerings out there. A stiff tether for knee ascender is not necessary at all. Those rollers are smooth and get rid of unecessary friction.

True. The ascender is $139.00 Canadian. I was looking to make my own based on swing's endorsement and saw that.

I missed that is was CAD but it is still high. I've seen the chest ascender selling for quite a bit less than CAD $139 by the way.

Gong can you elaborate. Not sure what you are asking. The differences are a lot. Begining with the bungy setup.....then rope WTF. This not 2001. And a chocking footloop. Those days are over.

No I make my own to fit each type of boot I own. These are on my pruning Scarpas. Easy clip in.
