Ropewalker generally was used just for ascent, switching over to MRS for working. Hand ascender with footloop and foot ascender. Can backup with prussic above hand ascender connected to bridge of harness for backup. Problem with this system was not having egress to ground in case of emergency. Though, a figure eight could solve this using the prussic.

A true description of the first ropewalker systems that used a 'walking' type
movement. However, currently the term ropewalker is also correctly being used to describe systems using multicenders knee and foot ascenders that produce the same leg movement while ascending.
