Klimair for a 2-in-1 lanyard

I have a 3 strand 2 in 1 lanyard with a prusik for an adjuster. I just ordered a klimair to replace the prusik to make it easier to adjust. Will this work ok with the 3 strand rope, or will I have to go to a rope like a 16 strand for the lanyard that is smoother. I find with using the prusik, that it tightens and I have to work the knot to get it to move, which requires the use of both hands.

Has anyone had a chance to use one of these to give me some sort of a performance review on them other than just the Sherrill catalog?
Thanks
Tony

Sawyer, I used to have a 3 strand lanyard with a micropulley and prussik, intended for one hand use. I loved it for 10 years of part time use, but it eventually got difficult to adjust with one hand, from sap and rough texture. I retired it in favor of the Sherrill Grillon style, but I'm not singing any praises of this just yet. Banjo (another poster here) has a homestyle system that I might try if I don't fall in love with this Grillon soon. Short answer, the braided prussik on the 3 strand works just fine.

OOPS, edit... I guess I didn't answer your question about the klimair... My first impression is that I would be wary.

Tom thanks for the reply. I like my 2:1, but I don't like how tight the knot gets when I want to adjust it.
Other than using the 2:1 I have, what other options are others using?

This is what I'm currently using (with a mini prussik when using as a second TIP/redirect):

But maybe Banjo can post a pic of his system... It's basically a mini climbing system with a VT and micropulley. Like the Grillon (with mini prussik), it can be used as an adjustable lanyard or a second TIP, but it is more versatile than the Grillon, methinks. Ted, got a pic?

The klimair is a nice piece of gear. Good swivel, grabs well, but once weighted it can be tough to loosen sometimes. I played with it for a 2-1 for using my spikes, and it serves the purpose well, but i still prefer a good old 6 coil prusik on a carabiner. Klimair will work fine though, just feel it out first, it is kinda touchy.

i also have a klimair that is to be used for a 2:! lanyard but it stays in my bag and i stick with a prussik or for my single lanyards just a distal looped through a twisted clevis to allow for single hand use. my vote is save your money, hard to adjust once weighted, never can do it with one hand, you must take all your weight off of the cam action before you can adjust, so if your pinned its not coming free, but this is true for most cams.

I use a microcender for my lanyard and have no problem adjusting it with one hand (You have to hop your body forward slightly, but you get used to it). I have some curiosity about the klimair..would I expect the klimair to be similar to the microcender in this respect? If this is the only criticism, I would say it is a small one.
