Just a question...

i like that idea, but i think there would have to be a pulley below that hitch to work, or else the more you try to pull yourself up youd be pulling yourself down

edit, i was looking at it again and i dont think i understand. are both the mid-line biner and the hitch attached to the saddle? whats going on there?

Definately need the fair lead. But yeah the climber belays themself. Can't have too much slack in the system. I've had this in the wings for a couple years for OTCC training.

Hey wct4life,

Ohhh, and one more. For the work climb can you use whatever climbing style you'd like? Such as v.t. setup or are you restricted to using a Blakes?

If you can make it to the ISA Winter Meeting in Columbus (Feb 15-17) there will be a class on Competitive Climbing. The hope is to encourage more climbers (both men and women) to participate in the competition. We will be going over all of the rules and regs for the events.(thanks for posting 2006 final version Mark). As well, you can get tips and help from many of the past Ohio champions.

Send me an email if you need more information regarding times, or check out the Ohio Chapter ISA website.
