Just a "heads up"

I was doing a removal of a small birch today from a bucket truck, nothing major.
Started with the upper branches above the wires and then moved to the top section of the tree.
The tree had rubbed through the heavy insulation of the triplex service wire and the top portion (at least) of the tree was hot.
What started as a routine removal turned out to be a real hazard.
When working around wires be extra careful!

I was called to a minor disaster last Friday where a small dozer was doing some landscaping next to a pole.
His blade clipped the guy which caused the pole to snap due to the stress.
A span of four cables, strand and the pole came crashing to the ground.
If someone had been working or watching him work from that side of the pole they would have easily been killed.
Be aware what`s going on around you at all times.
The potential for getting hurt or killed is everywhere!

The red line here shows the kill zone and the dotted black line shows where the cable ended up on the ground.
It covered a good size area, just lucky the operator was the only person there at the time.
