Jonsered Ironhorse

Bought it with big intentions but have not used much. It's in pretty good shape with the dump box and manuals. Honda 5.5 horse, runs good, biggest issue is steering needs to be adjusted and have not got around to it. Call me at

I've always wanted one of these. I don't know how much it would get used at work but I think it might do some good freight hauling into my wilderness cottage and some backyard logging around home. Enough work to justify a tax write off though. On a swampy or deep snow job it could be the only machine capable.

These are sweet machines. I have (well its in the shop now) a version from 1985 or something. Before it became the jonsered. The newer ones are way more rugged. They can drag a ton of brush, i hooked a log arch to it, pulled a fully suspended 25 inch, 12 foot section of white pine... Residentially you have to be creative, but I miss mine right now.
I also carried it around in the back of my toyota tacoma... priceless.
brandy new ones all decked out are round 15 gs

I think they were built for small pulp logging operations up in Canada. It's interesting that they don't use hydraulics, they wanted to avoid the chance of blowing a hose and spilling hydro oil. Not nearly as practical as a mini loader for residential treework , IMO.

I agree they have limited use for residential work but I'd still be interested in one if anyone wants to part with it, or knows of one for sale.

Unfortunately I missed a "like new" one recently.

Thanks.

Cool toy for sure. I love search tempest. HAve watched a few chippers that were a good buy on there and just came across a 1965 Rambler Ambassador for $4200. One original owner and 26K oriiginal miles. It is too bad it is a 4 door. If it was a 2 door hardtop I would buy it in a heartbeat. That was my first car.

If anyone runs across a used one of these I may be interested. Thanks!

I'm new to this site and considering selling my Iron Horse. I have the big model 9HP engine with a timber trailer, dump bed, skidding plate, and boom attachment for the timber trailer.
It has been a useful machine for small woodlot thinning and residential work. I have not used it as much as I thought because I haven't gotten enough side jobs (this business is what I do after my regular work week/family obligations are met). It's been kept under cover and is in good working condition. I'm asking $7,500 for the whole package.

Thanks,
Sam
