It ain't no Arbor Trolley, but...

Been here much more than a while
For $40.00 it gets the job done. Bought two of these at Menards thinking they might work for wheeling logs over to the trailer when there aren't too many big ones. Took one with me today, and it worked fine. These are the carts usually used for moving 5 gallon buckets of stuff around. Says 800 lb. capacity, but I wouldn't believe that optimistic rating. Still... forty bucks and it works ok if you just want to move a few logs out of a tight spot.

if you could cut a groove into the tray and have that handle bent the other direction (maybe a tad longer) you could walk out some long and skinnies on that thing pretty easily too. i think its a good find for the $$.

...hydraulic sack trucks, they can lift alot more...

True. If I see those for $40.00 I'll grab one... :D
This was just a low-budget impulse buy... to see if they'd work until I can afford something better. I cut everything 2" and bigger into firewood on site, so my requirements aren't very demanding. These seem like they will do the job for awhile, I posted it mostly because somebody else on a low budget might be able to get by with them, too, and I don't think you can beat that price. Made in the U.S.A. and the welding is better than I can do, myself!

Nice design on that thing. I like the longer "foot" or whatever you call the bottom part of that handcart. It seems almost perfect for the purpose you've outlined. Forty bucks for that much product, made in the USA, seems to me to be an almost unbelievably good bargain. Nice find.

bigger tires. bend the fenders out a little and put some fatter tires on there for ease of travel. I use a similar dolly every day and we haul some good size 5' long logs on there. logs that take 2 guys to set it in the dolly and get tilted. then of course we play rock paper scissors to decide who gets to push the dolly. for $40 I'd beat the hell out of that thing and figure out what it'll do.

...beat the hell out of that thing...

Hell, yeah... wife and I planted trees today... hauled them around the yard with one of these. Foot plate is big enough that it worked perfect for that use. We were planting the ones in five gallon buckets, about 6' tall or so. Handy little hand trucks, for sure.

Weld two "horns" on the corners, they slide under a log and keep it on the blade.

If you cut a notch, you will end up lifting onto the hand truck.

I have two "horns" on top, too to protect hands and keep the top of the log on place.

Slip lower horn under at COG, use handle as a lever, spin into place, rotating the log on the blade, roll out.

I'd spend. $80 on one beefier HT, rather than 40 on 2.
