Huh, I'm very curious about a new design. I use one all the time to aid in felling doug firs and love the tool, but see a lot of room for improvement. Curious to see what they come up with. Anyone got any info?

Grand Arbor Supply has them in stock:

(granted, more than the Home Depot link from @chipper1 ... )

I think I'm gonna order one of these. My rope is getting rough, slips in a couple spots. The good thing is I have other options normally, but these can give that small added advantage that reduces risk when the other options would take more time or cause more damage to surroundings.

And the portability for getting a truck unstuck, upright a tipped loader, or side-tilt a mini to reinstall a popped track on a sidehill in a forest. I have 2.

A simple guy line and simply pull line work together well.

I most often feed my rope through the puller, advance some slack, tie a running bowline to a tree as my anchor sling, then girth the rope- puller's swivel hook. Ready to roll.

Spiking the rope regularly (tie an overhand on a bight, if you like) as you advance. A wind gusty can cause a loss of tension on a tall tree and rope slippage. I've never had a problem... I'm prudent.

The newer models with the blue release tab are a bear to get to release, and the hooks continue to get smaller but we’ll see what the 2026 refresh brings maybe?
